Small Business Experience

Help me give my students real experience of running their own small businesses. Through STEM based education, our learners will design, engineer, prototype, advertise, manufacture, and sell student focused products.

My Project

Our school is fortunate to have many ambitious and motivated students. Our Small Business Experience enables the students to learn by doing.

With your donation, our Small Business Experience will have our students design, engineer, manufacture, advertise, and sell products that will connect with their peers and give meaningful life-long memories.

The students will be retailing their bracelets, churros, laser cut crafts, and student-engineered 3D prints. The materials provided will enable the students to be creative while combining their STEM skills with business experiences.

Through various projects the students will start with a churro manufacturing experience. The students can modify their products to match the desires of the peers and customers. Through the experience the students will be reflecting on how to improve and how to meet the wants of their customers. By using an air fryer, the students are hoping to make a churro that is healthier and less oily.

The second unit will focus on bracelets and modifying the designs. Engineering a utilitarian and stylish product is difficult for every small business. The students will need to adapt and make necessary changes to create products their customers want. The Engineering process is necessary for STEM education and businesses small and large.

Utilizing quality technology like laser cutters and 3D printers will be a part of our students' futures. The third project will demand students utilize a variety of computer programs and state of the art technology. The laser cut and 3D print products can be utilized for everything from games, toys, to gifts and decorations. The balsa sheets are an absolute necessity for the laser cutter. The filament is for our 3D printer. The pegboard will be used to display the products and help sell the crafts.
