Small Bodies- Big Needs. Visual & Physical Accommodation Help
Help me give my students the tools they need to succeed—rolling carts for visual organization for my English learning students, and wobble stools for movement and focus. These materials will allow equal opportunity a sense that everyone belongs.

My Project
Hi there! I'm a first-year teacher about to begin my journey in a high-needs, underfunded district in Massachusetts, where I’ll be teaching first grade in an inclusion classroom. My students will be diverse in background and learning needs—many will be English language learners, and several will receive services through IEPs or 504 plans.
Because of the unique needs of my classroom, organization, accessibility, and movement-based accommodations are not just helpful—they’re essential.
This project is focused on providing three important items that will support my students from day one:
• Rolling drawer carts will help me organize learning materials with visual labels—so my students who are still learning English, as well as those who rely on clear visual supports, can independently find what they need. It supports both autonomy and accessibility.
• Wobble stools give students who struggle to sit still the ability to move their bodies safely while staying engaged in lessons. These are especially beneficial for students with ADHD, sensory needs, or seating accommodations outlined in IEPs—but they're also helpful for all first graders still mastering the skill of sitting for extended periods.
• A construction paper storage rack keeps materials tidy and easy to access so we can keep our space safe, organized, and visually inviting. Having clear, calm spaces allows students to focus and reduces stress—especially for those who benefit from structure and consistency.
This project may seem simple, but it’s deeply rooted in creating a classroom that truly supports every learner, especially those who need a little extra help. Your donation—big or small—directly helps me build that environment from the ground up.
