My Students
My inclusion classroom includes 15 first-grade students who come from a variety of backgrounds and although their backgrounds are different, they all have the same goal in mind: success! We are part of a small rural school with approximately 110 students in four-year-old kindergarten through 4th grade. Although we are a small school, our class is very diverse. My class includes students who have attention difficulties, learning disabilities, speech difficulties, as well as behavioral issues. This project will help me provide an environment where all of my students can self-regulate and keep themselves in an optimal zone for learning.
A classroom is a place for students to feel comfortable and successful.
The students are excited to come to school and be part of a classroom community where they are supported and celebrated.
My Project
The Slumberkins program utilizes stories to help younger students learn and understand different social skills and situations. These materials will help my students develop a better understanding of their own feelings and reactions during social situations both in school and at home.
Our class will build strong relationships and routines in our classroom to support everyone's social and emotional needs.
These books help students build strong, healthy connections with their peers, teachers, and adults at home. These materials will help support our social and emotional learning curriculum for our first graders.
