Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Imagine being a Pre-K student arriving to school being language delayed and have little or no verbal communication skills. These sets of students attend a Pre-K Special Educational Program where they are serviced for speech and language, plus some also get serviced through an occupational therapist.
What most of these students have in common is that they are developmentally delayed and deserve to have an equal opportunity to be successful in life.
There are two role models, a few that have conditions such as autism, and or lack social skills.
My Project
Our keyboard's space bar is broken are there are no extra keyboards available. The students will benefit from an operable keyboard and mouse. The toner and papers will allow the teacher and parents to communicate progress. Since Waterford is a learning software that will have a placement point and then will monitor progress, parents will be able to follow up at home on the needed areas. The external drive will keep the data and activities safe. Our school is in a high poverty area. These materials will make a positive impact on my students' learning and will improve their lives at school. The parent reports will assist parents and teacher communication -- and with a team like that, my students will win. Young minds that are growing continuously will make us all brighter and will better help these wonderful boys and girls.
