This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a school-based occupational therapist, I work with students across all grade levels including preschool to 5th grade. Many of the students who I work with have delayed in their fine motor skill development.
These materials are ideal for students to use their imagination and creativities to create art projects.
The slime kit, ink pads, and finger paint would also allow them to work on their sensory processing skills in the area of texture exploration.
Many students with Autism have texture aversion and sensitivities. These materials would allow me as a therapist to address their texture sensitive needs.
