I need professional development from one of the top educators and facilities in Georgia!
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Wood's classroom raised $1,290
This project is fully funded
My Students
My students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds. Most of my students are from broken homes, live with grandparents, or even someone else who has stepped in to help raise them. 78% of our students are on free or reduced lunch.
I teach 50 students math and science from a small, rural town.
Our district is the smallest district in our county. We only have one primary, elementary, middle, and high school. Though we are small, my students form everlasting friendships because they grow up with each other from kindergarten to graduating seniors in high school.
My Project
This project will cover the registration fee and lodging for a two day professional development at the Ron Clark Academy. This will help me bring new and exciting ideas to my own classroom.
I have read and heard wonderful things about RCA and would love the opportunity to experience Ron Clark Academy's methodologies first hand!
I will participate in educator training programs to learn how to replicate RCA's style, philosophy, and bring this success back to my own school.
I will get to witness dynamic and innovative teaching methods, classroom observations, and workshops to learn ways to increase student engagement, ensure academic rigor, and create a climate and culture that leads to success.
The most important part of this experience is that I can improve not only my own classroom, but share it with my colleagues to increase the success rate of our student body as a whole for our school.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
