Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I love my students because they are unique learners who bring a smile to the room regardless of the difficulties this school year.

I am an occupational therapist that provides meaningful sensory and fine motor learning opportunities for students with special needs, grades K-5.

My students are eager learners who seek sensory input and learn best through multi sensory approaches such as visual, tactile and auditory learning.

My Project

Slant Boards will be used with my students with fine motor delays and visual perceptual delays.

Slant boards have been proven to provide an ergonomic work station that optimizes visual distance when reading and writing.

Slant boards provide wrist support and postural control for children who lack fine motor skills and muscle stability when writing, coloring or drawing.

Slant boards provide a direct unobstructed view when children are reading and writing. The slope surface also helps children with low visual perceptual and memory deficits. It helps children to keep their place visually while reading and writing, while providing support to their muscles.
