My Students
My class is a mix of 7th and 8th grade special education students. We are using real literature to keep students interested.
Our school is an intercity school that has experienced major funding cuts.
The school is located in high poverty area with 100% of our student meeting the criteria of being economically disadvantaged students. Our students work very hard toward academic success.
My Project
Students will be able to read their book at home and complete homework assignments. They will be able to use reading strategies that we learned in class and transfer those strategies to other reading. Reading comprehension is a struggle for my students and having notebooks available will help reinforce all strategies.
This story is about a students who is being bullied and how she deals with the problem.
Reading this story will encourage conversations about bullying and how students should handle similar feelings.
