Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This upcoming year my students will be taking the state tests for the first time. In order to prepare them well, my hope is to have a multitude of math and literacy games to reinforce the skills they will be learning in class.
Because at PS 10 we believe that the best "test prep" is strong teaching and effective student engagement, I want my students to have every possible opportunity to learn as much as possible as well as continued practice to strengthen their problem solving and comprehension abilities!
My Project
All children learn best through play. These games and activity sets well help my students reinforce the standards based skills in a manner that doesn't scream test prep. These activities give students choice to learn and play at a pace that is suitable for them. They have the ability to strengthen their skills independently, with peers or with the whole class.
Because students learn through play, its is so important to give them every opportunity to make learning a fun and meaningful experience in a reduced pressure environment.
These materials and games help us create a classroom emphasized on the needs of the child, with experiences they deserve.
