My Algebra I classes have completely transitioned to a self paced learning format where my students work independently on their math throughout the year. I act as the guide, helping them understand concepts and learn from their mistakes along the way. The best part of this method is watching them write down and work through problems while getting real-time feedback from me.
With that being said, I notice a lot of waste when it comes to Expo markers and paper and I would like to bring a new wave of technology into my math classroom so that these kids can work on their math in a more efficient and creative manner.
These students are being provided an opportunity to gain the skills it takes to be successful learners in today's society. They are taking ownership of the learning process and are learning through failures and successes. The entire goal is to create an immersive and collaborative learning space. These Boogie Boards would be an immensely popular and effective tool for the students to work out problems as they learn! Thank you for your consideration in my goals!
