My Project

Artist sketchbooks can significantly enhance learning for art students by providing a personal space for exploration, practice, and reflection. They are also excellent for supporting mental health by providing a safe space for exploration.

Sketchbooks provide a way for students to track skills and reflect on growth.

By keeping a sketchbook, students can reflect on early drawings, identify areas of improvement, and create a visual record of growth.

Sketchbooks also serve as powerful tools for mental health by offering a creative, nonverbal outlet to express emotions and relieve stress. Students use their sketchbooks each day through guided and independent practice, allowing them to find a positive outlet for stress relief and creativity. Building a daily practice can allow children to build healthy habits to channel emotions and deal with anxiety.

Sketchbooks have been a vital part of the artistic process throughout history. They are not just a tool for skill development, but a personal record of the creative journey and provide a record of the hidden side of the creative process.
