it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
What I love about my students is the way they find connections with others. Our best art projects are the ones where they see themselves in something or someone else in the world.
My students are brilliant little thinkers.
Giving them a place to keep track of their ideas and drawings will benefit their growth and self-esteem.
My Project
In order to better manage behaviors, I am developing a procedure in which students come into the classroom and immediately start working in their sketchbooks. Sometimes they will be given a question to think about or a drawing exercise. Rather than a handout, I want them to have sketchbooks in order to give them a personal space for their thoughts and drawings.
When they walk in the door, they will jump right back into their sketchbook.
In their sketchbooks they will plan for projects, write down thoughts and questions, and work on any drawing exercises assigned to them.
