My students come to school eager to learn and most come from families that have limited resources for school supplies. They amaze me with their talent and creativity. They are excited to enter the art room and see the possibilities and opportunities that await them.
Most of my students come from low-income families and do not have the means to buy some of the necessary supplies for the upcoming year.
My Project
My students will use the materials to build their own sketchbooks and personalize the cover. Inside the sketchbook, students will find worksheets and drawing prompts that relate to their curriculum.
The donations to this project will help my students express themselves through drawing and writing.
Each page will become an opportunity for critical thinking and problem solving.
It is my hope that at the end of the year, students be able to will view their sketchbook as a record of their learning as well as their journey throughout these difficult times.
