My students need 30 sketchbooks, drawing pencils, and erasers.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Horton's classroom raised $286

I teach the 5th grade at a small elementary school in Los Angeles with approximately 400 students. Our children come from all backgrounds, low income to middle income, and more than 8 languages are spoken at our school.
The creative process reaches students in a variety of ways. Teaching fine arts is fun and engages students in their own learning Last year I received a donation of sketchbooks from DonorsChoose.org, and my students benefited greatly from incorporating sketching and drawing into my curriculum at least twice a week.
Drawing helps children to expand their thinking and sparks their imagination. I found that by having sketchbooks in their desks we used them on a routine basis. We used the sketchbooks for directed drawing lessons, enhancing writing assignments, creating diagrams for science projects, as well as illustrations for social studies units.
It's great to see growth in our work. Your donation of sketchbooks pencils, and erasers will be a record of my students progress in their artwork as well as their connections to other curricular areas. You will make it possible for my students to tap into their imaginations and provide a place for them to express themselves.
