Help me give my students cool air with air conditioning and a fan.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are natural-born scientists and explorers. They just don't know it yet! They are inquisitive, they want to learn, they're analytical, they crave new learning experiences, want to search for meaning and truth, share their own stories, and become agents of change to make the world a more verdant place. And it is my job to facilitate and give them access to the knowledge and the skills they need to get the answers and purpose they seek. We, like many public schools, struggle with purchasing new supplies, especially technology, and we must then rely on your generosity to fill in the financial and ultimately learning gaps that allow us to get the technology, experiences, and opportunities our students need to grow into passionate academics and global citizens.
My Project
Think of the hottest days you ever experienced! Those days where the heat completely knocks you down and you're unable to focus or do any work. Now imagine that you have that happening while sitting in a high school classroom- while trying to focus and learn! It's impossible to learn when you can cook an egg on our desk tops! Our school is a beautiful national landmark in which the front windows of the building cannot have any air conditioners sticking out. In addition, our building has been retrofitted not with a central air conditioner, but with a big central fan that and a chiller that "tries its best" to cool down the classrooms with sometimes not so hot (or rather very hot) results; our classrooms can sizzle in the most unpredictable fashion. To add to this, we cannot control the temperature in our classrooms individually, so when our room gets hot- it gets HOT- especially because we have big floor to ceiling windows.
Thanks to your generosity, a portable air conditioner with a fan to cool down our classroom will help my students concentrate better in the classroom on sizzling hot days- and for Chicago- that's way into October and starting in March!
We all know that when we are very hot, it's very hard to concentrate on what important tasks we need to do, not to mention the body's reaction to just sleep because of the high temperature- it's debilitating! These portable ACs are allowed in the classroom since the AC does not stick out of the windows of the national landmark school AND are energy efficient to cool down our gigantic 700 square ft. classroom. As a plus, the portable air conditioner also comes with a heating option as well to use on our never-ending winter.
