My students are my second set of kids! My students are first graders that come from an area of very high economic need in Irvington. They are curious, thoughtful, and eager learners. This is the period of time when they are learning to love school: a love that will hopefully follow them for years to come. Their passion for keeping learning despite the odds inspires me.

My Project
My students often need to do work from the rug. We gather there to read stories, collaborate and to share with one another. This rug will give them a comfortable place to sit. It also provides clear spots to sit so that they do not have to try to manage spacing themselves out on their own. This warm and welcoming rug will help create a space where the children want to be and brighten up the classroom. The rug is a foundational piece of a classroom and it will make a huge impact!
