This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students almost all come from low-income families. Many of them haven't been taught to value education, and almost all of them don't like math. (Let's be honest, most people say they don't like math.) To help encourage my students to learn, and to support their various learning needs, I try to provide an atypical classroom environment. This means that I have 8 standing desks in my classroom. The district provided the desks and stools, but before the year was up, half of the stools had broken.
These stools will give my students a comfy place to sit at our tall desks so they can work in comfort and not have to stand.
Currently, they are taking turns with the working stools that I have and some are having to stand during class. These stools will make our lives much easier.
