Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These chairs will provide raised seating for the students in my classroom. One project I worked on this summer was building a bar height desk space for the back of the room to provide a better vantage point for students who have to or choose to sit there.

An initiative that I have started for this upcoming school year is transitioning to a flex-seating classroom and when planning and designing the space I wanted to make sure to create separate spaces that are truly unique and can cater to different needs.

These raised seating will provide options for any students who may benefit from seating farther back in the room but can still have the same access to instructional material that students in the front get.

My students, just like all students, have very unique and individual needs for their learning experiences. It is my hope that with options like these available in my classroom I can better adapt to them as opposed to asking them to adapt to me.
