Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, they arrive daily with the drive to learn and do their best. The school that these students attend is tucked into a small, tight-knit neighborhood where everyone is willing and able to help out when possible.
All students have the desire move around, especially kindergartners!
By being able to implement flexible seating, I would be providing a positive learning environment that will best suit their academic and cognitive needs.
My Project
This project will significantly increase my students' academic successes by providing additional hands-on STEM activities in a comfortable learning area.
By being able to implement flexible seating in my classroom, I am providing my students with the ability to self-regulate their own movement and fidget needs without disrupting or distracting themselves or others from learning.
By adding in an additional Hokki stool my students will have more seating options that allow them to do their best learning while being comfortable. This will automatically increase student engagement. The various STEM activities will encourage STEM careers in the future! Thank you for considering this project to increase student success!
