Reading is the key to success! I am a firm believer that reading is the key to success. I want everyone of my first grade students to become fluent grade level readers by the time they leave my class.
I am a first grade teacher at a low-sociol economic public school district in Oklahoma.
I have 18 seven year old students in my class. My students are motivated and ready to become fluent readers, but we need more guided reading books to use in our classroom.
My Project
My students need a variety of leveled guided reading books, the first grade King Series Collection and the Sit and Relax reading station. I believe that reading is the key to a successful life. I want to give everyone of my first grade students that key. Our school district has been faced with so many state cut backs in the last few years that they are unable to purchase these resources for us.
Without donors like you, my students would not have the reading resources they need available for them to use.
When a student is in the process of becoming a fluent reader, practice is so important. We need these books so that my students can practice reading at home and school.
