My Students
My second graders are so smart and amazing!
They are all special in their own way.
They attend a Chicago Public School located in a high poverty and violence-prone community. Despite the obstacles they face, they come to school optimistic. As their teacher, I want to instill in them that through learning, we can overcome challenges. I also want my students to have as many experiences as possible in a safe and nurturing environment. Thank you for taking our project into consideration.
My Project
As students sat in their chairs, they asked me, "What if we had swings in class?" This sparked my curiosity and when I looked online later that day, I found a video of a news reporter interviewing a teacher with a classroom where students were able to choose seats with bands on the chairs' feet so they could exercise and better concentrate while sitting.
Your donation would help our class be active for more than 60 minutes each day- every time we're sitting down, we can be "swinging" in our seats!
