My Project
This group was created to support and build on the strengths of young women of color. Students participate weekly in community building activities that focus on academic achievement, personal development, and professional growth. The snacks are a great motivator for students to attend group. The art supplies will be used for our annual community service project which is creating Valentine's Day cards for the elderly. The supplies will also be used to complete different art projects that include building self-esteem. The journals will be used for the girls to keep track of their goals throughout the school year and for them to write down their reflections after each lesson. My students are special because they have what it takes to be successful but are often faced with many barriers. This group will motivate, inspire, and encourage them to reach their goals.
