This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Children's books are a huge part of imparting a love of reading and literacy skills to our students. In the music room, children's books go even further. We explore the artwork, act out the story details, use instruments or our bodies to create soundscapes and explore the rhyme and flow of the text.

In the music room, books come to life as children discover the possibilities of their own creativity as we explore together.

This project will bring children's books into the music room. Each of these books has matching lessons to explore the story through movement, playing instruments, singing, and creating music together.
