My Students

Music is the heart of a kindergarten classroom. Our class needs a new Califone cassette/cd player to bring the music back into the classroom.

My students are five and six year old children from central Florida.

They are happy and eager to learn. They love to sing, dance, and learn through music. My school is a Title 1 school with about 86% of the children qualifying for the federal free lunch program.

My Project

My students love to learn through singing. I have songs that I have used through the years that really help the children learn their letter sounds, counting to 100, days of the week, and months of the year. We have songs for holidays and songs for cleaning up. I use music and movement during the day in many curriculum areas to help the children learn.

By acquiring this Califone cassette/cd music player, we will again have music in the classroom.

I have had three music stations break down in the last year. It is very frustrating and affects the mood in the classroom. My students miss the music.
