Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Almost all of my second grade students are from homes where English is a second language. Despite the challenges of coming from immigrant homes, my students put forth maximum effort and embrace challenges to become super-star second graders. Our school is a Title 1 school with 90% of our student population on a free/reduced-priced lunch.

The challenges of being in the brick-and-mortar-classroom during these COVID times can take a toll on learning and teaching.

My students need to feel safe and confident in a trusting, caring, kind, and loving environment at all times.

My Project

Starting off the school year with a stock of classroom supplies has a feeling of ease for all of us in the second grade. Although most students arrive on the first day of school with supplies, hardly do all students bring everything they need.

I am kindly asking for a donation of basic supplies such as pencils, pens, folders, notebooks, and coloring items to set up my super second graders for success.

I am a firm believer that when we reach the heart, we reach the brain. When my students know that they have supplies readily available, they are happy, comfortable, and are able to focus on their lessons.

Your generous donation will also touch the lives of other second grade students because I will share with my colleagues.
