My Project

Creating a warm, welcoming, and engaging learning environment is essential for student success—especially for the diverse group of learners in my 5th grade classroom. Many of my students are ENL/ESL learners or receive special education services, and a thoughtfully designed space helps them feel safe, focused, and eager to learn. The black-and-white area rug will provide a comfortable space for group discussions, read-alouds, and small group instruction, while also serving as a calming visual anchor in the room. Matching black-and-white bulletin board borders will give our displays a clean and cohesive look, allowing the colorful anchor charts and learning resources we hang around the room to really pop and catch students' attention.

The goal of this project is to create a learning space that feels organized, inviting, and stimulating without being overwhelming.

By using neutral tones for foundational decor pieces, we can highlight the vibrant academic tools and student work that support their learning every day. My students are incredibly special—hardworking, kind, and eager to grow despite the many challenges they may face outside the classroom. With your support, we can build an environment that reflects the pride we take in our learning and encourages every student to feel confident and capable.
