Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My 4th grade students come from a Hispanic background. However, their individual backgrounds are diverse. Their families come from different places and have different but similar cultures. Their life experiences are incredibly unique, yet their eagerness to improve and learn is strong.

The neighborhood in which our school is located is surrounded by some serious issues that are enough to damage my students’ self-confidence and make them unhappy.

Most of them have many family issues, a troubled household, and lack of attention that cause loneliness. Nevertheless, my students strive every day to overcome those issues by learning and wishing for a better future.

My Project

Usually schools provide the necessary supplies for students' work in school. However due to the school's budget, we are limited to the supplies we get. We don't usually get all the necessary materials and supplies we need during the year. Sometimes, my students' families try to help with paper and other donations for the classroom. Nevertheless, due to their limited wages those donations don't happen very often.

The paper and pens that we get as a result of your donations will help my students learn through hands-on activities when printed materials are not available.

Those materials will help my students get shared materials copied so that we can write on it and learn in the process. Students will create sentences and compositions; draw stories that motivate them; and many other things that their imagination can produce.
