My students need a grade level trip for 42 students to participate in a hands on learning experience at the Legoland Discovery Center
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Keenan's classroom raised $994
This project is fully funded
The students in the second grade at my school are AMAZING. Each day they wake up and come to school excited to learn. Our students represent Bosnia, Burundi, China, Ecuador, Germany, India, Iraq, Jamaica, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Poland, and the United States. They overcome the challenges of being English Language Learners. Our families are incredible in working to provide our students with everything possible, but the luxuries we often think of (Internet, home packed lunches) often have to be gone without.
Despite living in a city full of incredible cultural resources, many of our students have not always been to these great places. Traveling to the Legoland Discovery Center to study simple machines would be a wonderful capstone experience for our second graders.
As our students finish their unit on simple machines, this hands on learning experience will remind our students that they are scientists, engineers and explorers. Riding on the bus out of the city and to a popular destination will give our students the confidence that they deserve the very best.
You will make it possible for the second grade to go on (for most) a once in a lifetime field trip.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
