This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Learning is about more than reading and math. It's important for students to learn social skills to be successful both in school and in life. These quick-thinking games will allow my students to be able to take breaks while also building teamwork skills.
Games give students a great opportunity to practice social skills while having fun.
Games require students to practice sharing and being a good sport, win or lose. Games also help students develop communication skills including asking questions, and turn-taking. Since emotional intelligence and awareness is not a skill that naturally comes to them, it has to be explicitly taught. Social-emotional learning (SEL) is a critical area that students need to be taught in order to become the best individuals they can be and have success both inside and outside the classroom.
