Silhouette Of A Growth Mindset

My students need the Silhouette Cameo 3 Machine to help design and create motivational messages and other products needed for our growth mindset themed environment.

My Students

Our school is a place of learning, caring, and sharing. We seek to create an atmosphere which promotes student success. For this to happen, students need to feel safe to take risks, knowing that learning is a process.

Our community is one where having having a growth mindset is nurtured and valued.

We desire for our students to believe their talents can be developed so they don't give up, but rather use strategies to persevere. They know that when they are willing to work hard at things that they cannot do yet, they can develop the skills necessary to make those goals happen.

It is all about having a positive mindset. In my classroom we celebrate failures, because we know that mistakes are part of the learning process. They know that when they make mistakes, they are growing new brain cells, which excites them. Gordon B. Hinckley says, "You have not failed unless you have quit trying." What I want more than anything is for my students to know their mistakes lead to learning, not failure.

My Project

Students are bombarded by advertisements and images that influence them. They feel an incredible amount of pressure to succeed and achieve. They often feel defined in a negative way by their mistakes. Well what if we could take all these things that we know and turn them around in a positive way. A growth mindset says, "I do not fail, I succeed in finding out what does not work." That is the goal of my project.

I would like to get the Silhouette Cameo Machine for our classroom to use the fill our classroom with positive quotes and messages to promote using a growth mindset.

With this machine, my students and I can create wall designs, decorate our flexible seating options, and fill our halls with motivational messages to remind students throughout our school that they are ALL capable of achieving their goals.
