My Students
As a teacher in a Title 1 district, my students come from several diverse backgrounds. Living in a small town with with only one school district means that my student's socioeconomic backgrounds range from very low income to very high income. This makes it a little more challenging to meet everyone's needs.
I use positive reinforcement in my classroom in order to focus on the good things my students are doing.
Although some of my students may be extremely different from one another, they are able to show respect for each other when they enter our room.
I want school to be a place where every student feels safe and equally valued no matter what their life at home may be like.
I always tell my students that we are a family and we have to care for one another. When I see them forming new relationships with peers, doing the right thing in difficult situations, or even just helping a neighbor out on a difficult math problem, it makes me proud to be their teacher.
My Project
The addition of a Silhouette Cameo in our classroom will open the door to endless learning possibilities! It will be used to create shapes, letters, numbers, labels, bulletin board materials, and class shirts. Additionally, my students will be able to explore the world of engineering by bringing their own creative designs to life!
My students and I are ready to unleash our creative side while enhancing our classroom environment at the same time.
We already have projects in mind just waiting to be created. The addition of this Silhouette Cameo machine in my classroom will definitely increase student engagement with projects. With funding for this project, the creative possibilities are endless!
