Sight Words, Oh My!

Help me give my students index cards and sharpies to make sight words.

My Students

This year, I have a wide range of students. Most of my students are Native American. Some are eager to learn, and others will need that extra push to succeed. The children seem to work really well together and encourage each other.

I believe that all students can and will learn.

They just need to be nurtured and encouraged to succeed. Some just need to know that they are loved and can achieve their goals as long as they don't quit and never give up.

My Project

Please help me give my students colored index cards and sharpies so they can make and use sight word flashcards at home. I have white labels to write the sight word on. The students will place the labels on the index cards and decorate them to help them remember the new words.

Studies have shown that by seeing words in color or on colored paper, students will remember the words better.

I believe these flashcards will be a key part of my students learning these new sight words. Once they make these flashcards, they will use them over and over throughout the year.
