Sight Word Success

Help me give my students multiple different games to play to help learn new ways to read CVC words as well as games to help develop their sight word recognition.

My Project

The majority of our students are EL Learners and they struggle with the basic skills other kids grew up with. English is not their 1st language or the language most spoken at home, so things that may seem "easy" to others, may be extremely difficult for our ELL students. Since we are Title One teachers, we pull students with the lowest reading scores and work with them in small groups. The extensive variety of games I am looking to add to our classroom will offer such wonderful options for our students. One way of playing a game may not be as effective to one student as it is for another, so the variety of games is so fundamental; this can also be said for reading... every student is different which means they learn differently.

All these games will benefit all grades we service (K-3) in sight words and practicing CVC words which are paramount for student success.

I am so excited to see how much growth we can see when we use these games to learn... they will think we are just playing and not learning. WIN-WIN for everyone!
