My students need technology, such as the iPod Touch and ipod shuffle, which will help them in all areas of their education.

My Students
What type of activities do you remember from your classroom days? I bet it was something you did that was hands-on and engaging!
My students are definitely 21st century learners!
While we may live in a rural setting, they are more than familiar with available technology that is out there today. Many of my students, though, come from economically-disadvantaged families, and are not able to have these products for their personal use. Most of the technology they experience is through the school system.
My Project
While computers, laptops, and SMARTboards are great tools, there is so much more out there that we are not able to access! Why? The "app" world has exploded with educational games and tools that would help some of my struggling students! Math and Reading is a weak area for some, and the apps that are out there to help and practice these subjects are amazing!
Imagine being handed a center game. It's been popular with the class, so has been worn-out by many years of use. It's a great game, but will have to be repurchased, or even remade. An iPod wouldn't have this problem. Not only that, if the reverse were true - it was NOT a quality game or tool - you can simply "delete" and move on! It also makes storage simple!
Imagine having hundreds of tools and games at your fingertips, but having them stored on a tiny device! The Shuffle is also a GREAT tool to use for audiobooks and podcasts that are geared towards children's literature.
Having both these tools in our classroom would help engage and stimulate the learning environment of my struggling learners, as well as help enhance the learning of my on to above level students!
These are such versatile tools that open up a whole new world in our learning experience! Please help us earn these invaluable tools!
