Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach math and science to 60 students. I teach at a Title I school. 100 percent off the students get free and reduced lunch. During Meet the Teacher night, I had around 15 students out of 60 bring the necessary school supplies.
Many students live in single-family homes or both parents constantly work and do not have the financial means to buy supplies.
In my class, students are constantly writing equations and practicing their math problems using dry-erase makers and boards. When students have an error it is easy for them to erase the error and fix it. My goal for this project is for each student to have enough dry-erase markers for them to practice their math problems daily. My students would appreciate having dry-erase markers because they love using them daily.
