This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach 5th grade Science. Our students consist of 99% bilingual and many live in a low socio-economic community. In our state, Science has always been one of our weakest exams. Since the students lack vocabulary it is very difficult for many students.
I strongly believe that students learn through doing. Having this pond at our campus will be a learning tool not only for my students, but as well as every student at our campus.
In order for my students to better understand our ecosystem and how it works, this pond would be a great benefit for our them. This pond will teach them responsibility as well as reinforce science concepts and vocabulary. The skills that the students learn through this initiative will benefit the environment for years to come, as they learn to take responsibility for our ecosystem.
This pond is very important in my students learning about our ecosystem. This pond will teach them responsibility as well as reinforce science concepts and vocabulary. I hope this project will be funded so that my students will have this great opportunity in learning. I know this will be an experience they will never forget. It will mold them to be great and responsible citizens in our community.
