Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Elementary students all have dreams to contribute to society. When asked, they want to be doctors, teachers, and engineers. They come to school with a smile on their faces and hope for their futures. However, some elementary students have the disadvantage of living in an area where support to help them achieve is lacking.
This is what my students face almost every day in their elementary school years.
I teach 25 wonderful students in Los Angeles. Despite these challenges, my students still have hope for their futures. How can we continue to keep these students with positive attitudes despite the achievement gaps they face?
My Project
Technology has become an important tool in today’s education. Students now are using computers every day in the classroom for all of their projects. They have become creative in presenting their projects, and I have become more technologically sophisticated by them. Using computers has been wonderful for my students as they concentrate more while doing whatever project is being worked on. However, not having all the accessories needed has become a problem.
Our classroom needs a printer to help my students show their creativity.
Our school currently has no printers for our students to print their essays or other projects. Currently, my students share their work with me, and I can either send their work to a black and white copier. I can also use my own personal color printer at my home. Having students create their projects then immediately print their results will enhance their sense of professionalism I believe will make them even better students. Thank you for your support.
