Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Each year, our economics students take on the exciting challenge of becoming inventors. In small teams, they brainstorm, design, and create original inventions. As part of the project, they must not only build a working model of their invention, but also develop a marketing plan, create advertisements, and prepare a professional presentation.

The highlight of the unit is our schoolwide Inventors' Fair, where students present their inventions to the entire school.

Classes rotate through the fair, engaging with each team and voting on the most creative, useful, or marketable invention. It’s a favorite event that celebrates innovation, teamwork, and public speaking—all critical real-world skills.

As a low-income school, access to even basic materials can be a challenge. That’s why we’re asking for your help in providing trifolds and Expo markers—two essential tools that allow students to clearly display their ideas, diagrams, and advertisements during the fair. These simple supplies help students take pride in their work and give them the chance to present their ideas with confidence and professionalism.

Your support makes this memorable learning experience possible. Thank you for helping our students bring their ideas to life and shine in front of their school community!
