Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are excellent little humans who are eager to learn. Many of them log into our Zoom class every morning, excited to learn and to see their classmates. They enjoy practicing their reading and writing skills every day.
My students need so much modeling and practice in writing.
Typing on tablets is not enough for them. Watching me type on a tablet is not sufficient for them either. They need to watch proper letter formation, and unfortunately, they do not receive that from me writing on the screen with my finger or typing.
My Project
I have a group of students that are all eager to come back to school and learn. In the last year and a half, my students were faced with their first year of school taking place at home, on a tablet. Many of them struggled with completing work online and didn’t have the resources to print work at home. It was also difficult to gather real data that shows what my students have learned.
When they return to the classroom, many students are going to have a hard time focusing on their own work during spelling tests, writing blocks, and reading.
With the privacy boards, each student will have their own space, giving them the ability to focus on their own work, free of distractions.
