My students need to print and share their writing in a more formal way. This printer and toner will make this wish a reality!

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Technology is a need and not necessarily a privilege.
5th graders at my school are amazing writers.
Putting their thoughts in paper is not an issue.....but putting them in print is. These authors enjoy writing daily, sharing their experiences with others, writing about subjects that matter to them, and making sure their voices are heard.
Our school fosters creativity - expressing many of our feelings with words and art. When these two are merged, outstanding pieces are produced.
My Project
Many of my students do not have access to computers at home, and printing their written work is often impossible. At school, I use our available computers for students to write their final pieces (which are amazing), yet I know that printing them will be challenging. At times, I save work on my flash drive and take them home or to a printing place to get them printed.
My students will benefit by having a printer and knowing how technology can enhance our lives by making final products look amazing.
5th graders going soon to middle school need a printer to be able to learn basic computer skills such as formatting for printing and printing revised/edited work.
Printing is not a luxury, but a way to show how our work can be enhanced by the use of technology.
