My students need a projector to be able to see the Power Points that are created for their education. As it stands I have a screen and no projector to show these presentations.
I am a middle/high school librarian who has recently been split between 2 libraries. Both schools contain Title I inner city students. Every day, I have classes come to the library at my schools. In 1 school, I have a pull down screen but no projector to connect with my computer.
Our students are inner city students who attend a Title I school.
Many come from broken homes and are poverty stricken. Our school is a middle/high school in a traditionally bad section of town. Due to these factors, our school and students are often ignored. As a teacher, I lack the things needed to created an enriching environment. I want to be able to keep my students motivated by showing them Power Points that guide the daily lessons, but without a projector this is impossible.
My Project
I envision the LCD projector being used to show the lesson. I do not have any blackboards, white boards or any area to show the lessons that I am diligently creating. I am relying on my voice for a 90 minute lesson. I desperately need a projector to show the students the created lessons. The students will be viewing Power Points that will teach then study skills, research skills and basic life skills (how to be respectful, etc.)
The donations to this project will improve the classroom by allowing me to project the information that I have created for the students onto a screen.
Students will have visual learning ability because I will be able to show them the lessons.
