My Students

I teach the sweetest little first graders. They are all from military families. A lot of them have one or sometimes both parents on deployment. They have a true love of learning and I consider myself fortunate to be their teacher.

My kids are mostly from low income families who qualify for free or reduced price lunch and breakfast.

There is no other population of kids that I would rather teach. A lot of them need just a little bit more tender, loving care than perhaps other children do. Thanks for reading about my students.

My Project

These white boards will help my first graders immensely. While we are are distance learning sometimes it's hard to hear the kids or to get to each one of the kids for a response. If the kids had their own white boards they could work out math problems or write the missing vowels during word study time and I could quickly check for understanding.

Another reason white boards would help my first graders is the fact that their answers are not permanent.

They know if they should happen to make a mistake, it can be very easily erased and they can try again. I know this would be a great learning tool for my kids for all subjects.
