My Students

Worrying about food, money, transportation, and clothing are adult worries, yet many of the students at my school face these "grown-up" problems each day. In spite of the challenges they face, they constantly rise to the occasion and frequently blow me away with their abilities to learn.

My students come from a wide variety of backgrounds.

Some have, and some do not. It is my job to level their playing field so that all have a chance to be successful. Through hands-on, exciting, and active assessment, all students in my second grade, inner-city classroom prove themselves time and time again.

My Project

I am requesting money centers, money games, and plastic counts to enhance my counting and adding money unit. It seems that every year when I teach money I do not have enough hands-on learning tools. There are always students sharing and it takes twice as long as it would if I had ample manipulatives. Plastic money can be very difficult to keep up with as well because it rolls across the floor and the monster under the rug eats it...At least that is what my kiddos say. Help us to have the supplies we need to make our unit on counting and adding money fun, hands-on, and engaging. Thanks in advance for your help!

They deserve the best in every aspect of life, especially in their education.
