Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Seeing math work, especially during in-person learning, serves several important purposes:

Visual learning: Many students are visual learners, and seeing math work on a screen or paper can help them understand complex concepts better than just hearing explanations.

With an iPad, I will be able to share my screen with my online learners and be able to walk them through step-by-step problem-solving strategies in math as well as other subjects.

Clarification: When students see math problems being solved step by step, it provides them with clarity. They can follow along and understand how to approach similar problems on their own. This is especially important for subjects like algebra and calculus where problem-solving strategies can be intricate.

Error Identification: Watching math work being done helps students identify common errors and misconceptions. They can see where mistakes are made and learn how to avoid them. This can be particularly valuable for building problem-solving skills.

Feedback: In an in-person learning environment, students can ask questions, seek clarification, and receive immediate feedback. They can raise their hands and ask the teacher to explain a specific step or concept they find confusing.

Engagement: Physically seeing math work in real-time can be more engaging than just reading through a textbook or watching prerecorded videos. It keeps students actively involved in the learning process.

The lack of in-person learning, especially during remote or online education, can pose challenges in these areas:

Reduced Engagement: Students may become disengaged when they are solely presented with written instructions or prerecorded videos without the interactive element of in-person instruction. By sharing the screen using my iPad, I can keep students engaged and create an environment where everyone can participate in a safe space
