My Students

My students are amazing. We have such a unique diverse group of students coming from so many different towns and communities to form one amazing community. These kids are kids that don’t fit into a normal educational setting well - they are not the “one size fits all” variety. They are curious and smart and extremely passionate when they are given the opportunity to showcase their gifts. I want to help give them all the tools of a 21st century education to help them reach their full potential and prepare them for the technological world they will be entering!

My Project

A set of graphing calculators for the classroom would greatly benefit students’ ability to explore higher level concepts in greater depth. Many High schools, Community colleges, and universities all use these calculators to teach advanced mathematics skills and allow the students to expand their knowledge in more efficient ways. Let’s give our kids the opportunity to do the same! Graphing calculators allow kids to model equations that represent real world scenarios and make changes quickly as they gather data. It also offers opportunity to learn basic programming that can translate to any course! I’ve requested 10 calculators that will be for classroom use, hoping for the possibility to expand in the future.
