Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are very eager to learn something new each day at school. They get excited when I bring in a new game to play or a new activity or even a new book to read which helps them to master a new skill especially learning about feelings and the way they feel. They are special because they want to learn. They just need more supplies, games, activities, and books to help them get to the next level in their learning.

My Project

Reading will allow young minds to build upon their vocabulary. Young minds should be able to understand their feelings and to express them. Reading books that talk about feelings will help young readers to remember and understand themselves as individuals and why they feel the way they sometimes do. Puppets and corresponding books on any topic will encourage young minds to follow subject discussions. My students love to listen to stories with puppets, and they pay attention more to the subject being read.

Let’s Talk Kid Puppets and books will allow them to have a better understanding of feelings and emotions.

Early Language Activity Boxes will also help with language and communication. Books on emotions for daily use in the classroom will provide quick and easy understanding because some young minds love to look at books with bright illustrations, and simple word understanding excites them.

My students know how to care for the books because they are taught how to hold them and care for them. Books are an important tool used in my classroom for my students to understand the world around them. There are limited resources of books for my students to use due to the economic background they are brought up in. Libraries are great resources but the books used must be returned. Having our own personal library will allow the students to choose books that will help them understand that each person has emotions and feelings and thoughts that make them unique in every way. The new books will be an added resource for them to reference when they need answers to questions about the feelings and emotions.
