In a world where technology is becoming a very prominent part of our everyday lives, it is important that we give our students chances to work with technology. We do what we can here to give our students all the opportunities possible, however we average one computer for ten to fifteen students.
Our students are like most students, they enjoy being kids and do their best to improve their chances in the world.
Our students here are at a disadvantage with this, however, due to the lack of technology in our school and the community. We live in a high-poverty area and suffer from this in areas of technology the most. The school has done everything they can to get computers in the classrooms and programs for the students to use with the programs, but we still do not have enough computers for the students to really benefit from their advantages.
My Project
These 10 Chromebooks will offer the opportunity for the students in this room to take advantage of all the opportunities given to them by being able to use technology. As a class we will be able to set aside time to work in small groups allowing the students to work on these computers and the programs our school has access to. These programs are specially developed to help students work on math, reading, and science skills. With these chromebooks my students will also be able to work on their typing skills. I could allow these students to work on the chromebooks to type papers, letters, and stories that they have written in class.
Technology has become very important in our world.
People are expected to have some working knowledge when it comes to computers. In order to be successful in school and in the workplace people need to be able to use simple programs on a computer and be able to navigate to those programs. These chromebooks will give the students in my room the chance to work more with computers resulting in them being more prepared for life outside of the classroom or in a higher education classroom.
