Help me give my students a new MacBook Air so my ELLs and SWD's can access their learning tools online. They do not speak English and need translation services when communicating. We also need a case and toner.
Being a teacher of English Language Learners, having access to programs that are both auditory and visual are very important and this would achieve that goal. Many of the programs they use require a fast, up to date computer that they simply do not have! Many of my students do not have working computers at home, and damaged, older ones at school. I'm trying to give them ways they can navigate through all that (in a highly technical world) and having another computer (that is up to date) is one way to do that.
Parents would benefit from this as well.
Communicating with my students' parents isn't always easy when they don't speak English very well. With the new push for video conferencing having a working camera on my computer to speak with them makes all the difference!
This very important tool would give them another way to access their assignments. Funding this project for an Apple MacBook Air and case would make life easier for us all and would truly make a lasting impact!
