This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach at a wonderful urban school with fantastic students. Our school provides an exciting single-gender STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) program. We are located in a culturally diverse neighborhood in the heart of the city. Students are encouraged to cultivate a growth mindset by taking academic risks, and learn from their mistakes in a safe environment. Students learn how to self-advocate for themselves and support each other.
Our school provides a wide array of opportunities for students to explore their interests through project-based learning, museum art school partnership, CTE Engineering School, Robotics and Coding classes, Community College Courses, Music Program, Art club, Bookworm Buddies Club, French club, Gender Sexuality Club, and Game Club.
My Project
We need a printer and document camera for our classroom! Most of my students don't have personal printers at home and going back to school in August we will need to do a lot of printing in the classroom! Having a printer available at our fingertips will make doing and submitting work much easier for the whole class!
Our focus on STEAM prepares students for the 21st century and equips students with real world problem- solving skills and offers students opportunities for deep inquiry, theme-based learning.
A document camera will allow the teacher to magnify and project classwork onto our wall as we work in groups, paris, or as a whole class.
