My Students
What was your history class like? Did you sit and copy notes? Or were you more fortunate to have an engaging, energized classroom? My goal is to be like the second classroom. Research has shown that students respond better to interactive, engaging lessons. An HP video camera would help with this.
I teach Junior High students.
These students are used to being entertained and participating in interactive entertainment. This camcorder will help do both. One of our themes this year is to "engage not enrage" our students. We are attempting to use technology to improve the effectiveness of our lessons.
A lot of my students do not have technology resources at home. The camcorder will help them view lessons that I've recorded as well as clips that they might have missed in class. My accelerated students will also benefit from the added rigor interactive lessons can provide. This camcorder will engage and add an extra dimension to my history lessons.
My Project
The more engaged my students are, the more they learn. This video camera would help them participate in class and teach their fellow students. I would also be able to record my lessons for students who are absent, or need reinforcement. I could use this camera in connection with other technology I have in my classroom to truly have an effective, engaging, and energizing lesson.
Research has shown that, "The ability to stop, start and rewind can be invaluable." This video camera will help my classroom tremendously by giving me the ability to do just that.
I can not only record my own lessons, but allow students to teach their peers. Engaging lessons lead to excited and motivated students. Help engage my students by helping to provide them with this HP camcorder!
